An App design and brand development sprint

“An intuitive organization app designed for users to share and save recipes, create collaborative grocery lists, and completely change the way they think about food and cooking.”

Logo and brand identity kit

Starting from scratch, my first step was to develop a catchy and relatable name to shape the product’s identity. I designed a wordmark logo for cohesive headings and brand recognition, followed by crafting the brand strategy and kit. I created a vibrant, fresh color palette and typography to evoke the energy of cooking and food, and I designed icons and illustrations for buttons and other design elements to align seamlessly with the brand kit.

High Fidelity Mockups

Using Adobe XD and Adobe Illustrator, I refined my wireframes, applying the brand kit that I initially made. This step brought the brand’s visual identity to life, aligning with my strategy to create a cohesive and engaging digital presence.

Wireframes

The next step was to start envisioning the layout and elements of the digital project. I began with low-fidelity, hand-drawn wireframes, then refined these into greyscale digital wireframes for the application’s key pages.

Depicting the user base through proto-personas

In the proto-persona creation phase, I developed initial user personas based on assumptions about target users to guide design decisions. These proto-personas helped to identify potential user needs, goals, and pain points, providing a foundational understanding before more in-depth research. This early focus on user perspectives ensured our design was user-centered from the outset.

Interactive Prototype

I finished this sprint by connecting my mockups into an interactive prototype in Adobe XD, allowing for realistic user flows and functionality testing. This prototype enabled mock tests to experience the brand's digital presence firsthand, simulating navigation and interactions to gather feedback.

Final Takeaways

This project allowed me to refine my skills take a brand from concept to a fully realized digital experience, combining strategic thinking with design knowledge. Through thoughtful user research, brand development, and interactive prototyping, I delivered a cohesive, engaging solution that aligns with both the brand’s goals and user needs. This work reflects my commitment to creating purposeful, user-centered designs that resonate with audiences and drive meaningful engagement.
